Mache gerade ein Paar Übungen um mir anzusehen wie die Fragestellungen bei der CompTia A+ Prüfung aussehen werden und bin auf folgende Frage gestoßen:

A technician upgraded the memory on a server from two 8GB sticks to eight 32GB sticks. The server memory is now at full capacity per the user guide. When the technician powers on the system, only 128GB of memory is recognized by the OS and the BIOS. The technician decides to upgrade to the latest version of the firmware on the system, which does not help. Next, the technician installs the memory in sets of 64GB at a time. Each individual set of 64GB is fully recognized by the server.
Which of the following will not allow the server to recognize all of the memory installed at the same time?

A. The power supply is not supplying enough power for the memory.

B. The memory has too many ECC errors and is shutting down

C. The server is overheating when all of the memory is installed.

D. The server needs DDR4 memory, and DDR3 is installed.

Laut der Übungswebsite ist aber die richtige Antwort D

 

Meine Frage nun, wie soll man aus der geschilderten Situation entnehmen dass DDR3 verbaut wurde aber DDR4 benötigt wird. Es sollte ja nicht mal möglich sein in ein System welches auf DDR4 ausgelegt ist DDR3 zu installieren. 

 

Die Frage und deren Antworten wurde schon an diversen anderen Stellen im Netz diskutiert. Z.B. hier.

Andere Braindumping-Sites geben A als richtige Lösung an.

Ich bekomme allein vom Satz "Which of the following will not allow the server to recognize all of the memory installed at the same time?" Kopfschmerzen (der mMn nicht zu den Antworten passt). ^^ Ich würde mich der Einschätzung anschließen, dass die Frage Murks ist (oder sie zielt auf absolute Exoten-Hardware ab). Soll vorkommen.

 

 

Ah super und ich dachte ich hab einen riesen Denkfehler, danke dir, bin garn nicht auf die Idee gekommen mal nach der frage zu googeln.
