Heute stelle ich mich aber wirklich blöd an. Wie kann ich denn eine if-Schleife machen, deren Bedingung den Inhalt einer Charaktervariable überprüft ???

Ich habe es jetzt mal so probiert:

if ( weiter == "j")

{

Anweisung;

}

Bitte helft mir !*!*!*!*!

Versuch doch mal einfache Anführungszeichen.

P.S.: if-Schleifen gibt es nicht

Zu Erlaeuterung: Doppelte Anfuehungszeichen werden bei Strings verwendest. In Deinem Beispiel vergleichst Du die Adresse des Strings "j" mit dem Wert in "weiter". Eigentlich sollte Dein Compiler da meckern.
