Anleitung zur Wurmbekämpfung - sehr suspekt

Unten stehende Mail hat mir eine Freundin gestern geschickt. Das liest sich ja auf den ersten Blick wenigstens halbwegs logisch, aber ich finde das sehr suspekt. Ist das wieder eine von diesen niedlichen Kettenmails mit denen man andere zuspammen kann? Nur diesmal unter dem Deckmantel des Schutzes vor E-Mail Würmern? Ich stell das mal zur Diskussion...

Subject: HOW TO PROTECT YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS BOOK -

As you may know, when/if a worm virus gets into your computer it heads straight for your email address book, and sends itself to everyone in there, thus infecting all your friends and associates.

This trick won't keep the virus from getting into your computer, but it will stop it from using your address book to spread further, and it will alert you to the fact that the worm has gotten into your system.

Here's what you do:

First, open your address book and click on "new contact," just as you would do if you were adding a new friend to your list of email addresses.

In the window where you would type your friend's first name, type in "A".

For the screen name or email address, type "AAAAAAA@AAA.AAA".

Now, here's what you've done and why it works:

The "name" "A" will be placed at the top of your address book as entry#1.

This will be where the worm will start in an effort to send itself to all your friends.

But, when it tries to send itself to AAAAAAA@AAA.AAA, it wil l be undeliverable because of the phony email address you entered. If the first attempt fails (which it will because of the phony address), the worm goes no further and your friends will not be infected.

Here's the second great advantage of this method:

If an email cannot be delivered, you will be notified of this in your In Box almost immediately. Hence, if you ever get an email telling you that an email addressed to AAAAAAA@AAA.AAAAcould not be delivered, you know right away that you have the worm virus in your system. You can then take steps to get rid of it!

If everybody you know does this then you need not ever worry about opening mail from friends.

ONE MORE NOTE OF INTEREST AND PROTECTION: When you forward an email, Click FORWARD, then highlight ALL of the names on the one you got and click delete. THEN..send to your contacts using the bcc instead of the to or cc. This way Noone sees all of the names and addresses.

Ist quatsch, die meisten Würmer bringen ihren eigenen "Mail-Server" mit, die jagen den kram einfach per smtp raus, denen is auch *******egal ob die Adresse existiert oder nicht. Und wenn er eine Adresse nicht lesen kann, beschädigt , Sonderzeichen wasauchimmer, nimmt er halt die nächste ....

Ich würde (m)einen Wurm nie so programmieren, dass er aufhört, wenn der erste Adressbucheintrag nicht erreichbar wäre.

Vergleichbar mit: Du suchst was zu Essen, im Kühlschrank findest du nichts, also schaust du auch NICHT im Brotkorb, Obstschale, Gefrierschrank etc. nach

Ich dachte mir schon, dass das Schwachfug ist. Aber jetzt stellt euch mal vor, wie viele Leute das jetzt tatsächlich probieren. *Adressbuch editier* Just kidding...

Wobei ich allerdings den Teil mit dem BCC in Ordnung finde, ich hatte schon oft Situationen, in denen jemand gemeint hat, er muss etwas lustiges rumschicken und dann 30 Adressen in CC gesetzt hat und gleichzeitig mit der Mail kommen dann 20 Virusmails und 10 Spammails.

Ich würde (m)einen Wurm nie so programmieren, dass er aufhört, wenn der erste Adressbucheintrag nicht erreichbar wäre.

Dito. Verursacht bei mir auch allergische Schübe, wenn meine Adresse mit 50 anderen im Header von irgendwelchen tumben Spassmails steht.

Wem sagst du das, in letzter Zeit bekomm ich immerwieder mails mit dem Betreff

- "An [%NAME%]: WICHTIGE NACHRICHT"

- "Eine Neue Nachricht für [%ADD_NAME%]

oder so in etwa, solche b00ns

Das ist schlicht Unsinn. Eine Prüfroutine, ob die Adresse existiert, macht einen Virus langsamer und damit weniger effizient in seiner Verbreitung. Die einzige Fehlerbehandlung dürfte etwas sein in der Art von "On Error resume next"

Das gilt aber nur für die (mittlerweile "veralteten") Viren, die sich per Outlook oder Outlook Express verbreiten, denn nur diese senden den "richtigen" Absender mit.

Fast alle aktuellen Viren fälschen jedoch den Absender - entweder mit einer seriös klingenden Firmenadresse, oder aber sie nutzen denselben Fundus, aus dem sie ihre Empfänger beziehen....

Allein dieser Teil dieser Email macht Sinn.

Vielleicht sollte man ihn (natürlich per BCC, und in einem für Computerlaien verständlichen Deutsch) an alle Adressen weiterleiten, die man in all den "Spaßmails" finden kann?
