Wie kann ich denn einen zweiten Monitor unter Linux verwenden?

Ich habe bis jetzt nur einen Haken gefunden, mit dem ich auf beiden Monitoren des selbe sehe. Bringt mir aber nix. Hätte gerne wie unter Windows die Möglichkeit, einen erweiterten Desktop zu benutzen.

Habe Mandriva 2007, Graka ist eine NVidia 6800 XT

Funktioniert nicht so wie es soll.

Bekomme zwar meinen erweiterten Desktop, der X-Server startet aber nicht mehr vollständig.

Wenn ich als root angemeldet bin und den starte klappts, sonst bleibt der bei einem leeren blauen Hintergrund stehen und der Mauszeiger dreht sich lustig weiter. Bis in alle Ewigkeiten.

vielleicht keine unterstützung durch deinen window manager?

Dann müsste ja eigentlich bei allen Benutzern das gleiche passieren, oder?

bin ich root funktioniert es ja.

Habe KDE im Gebrauch.
